BK Mushroom Swiss Steakhouse Burger

BK Mushroom Swiss Steakhouse Burger

Originally since it was Wednesday, I wanted to take advantage of Whopper Wednesday and get a Whopper.

However, as I pulled near the drive-thru window, the big huge advertisement for the BK Mushroom & Swiss Steakhouse Burger caught my eye and it was too enticing to pass up.

So I gave up the $1.49 Whopper and splurged on the much more $$$ Steakhouse.

Burger King fries

I could’ve behaved and had the burger by itself.  But no, I had to get the “Value Meal”.

Good thing they had good fries.  Having worked at a BK before, I totally knew how ghastly the fries would’ve been if they have used old oil.  These were a nice pale golden color, tasted fresh, with no hint of old oil.  I’m usually partial to McD’s fries but these were seriously not bad.

Even before I opened the wrap I could smell the “flame-broiled”ness.

However, I must say, they did a pretty bad job on assembly.  They could’ve used a bigger bun ie. the Whopper bun but they had to use the Whopper Jr. bun.  Honestly, it doesn’t take that much effort to make a burger look presentable.  Whoever assembled must really not care.

This is probably false advertising at its best…the poster burger was probably twice the size of this one proportionally.  But that wasn’t unexpected was it?

So tastewise, I probably shouldn’t try to guess how much sodium is in this thing.  The patty was very very good and flavorful.

Especially with the crispy onion flakes and the swiss cheese.  Kinda disappointed they use canned mushrooms though.

Weird thing, towards the middle of the burger there’s a BBQ-y ketchup thing going on.  I thought that tasted really weird and took away from the mushroom-&-swiss-goodness.  If I do get this again, I’ll ask for no ketchup.

Honestly, I can’t really discern the difference between this supposed “100% Angus Beef” and regular beef.  It looks like regular Whopper beef to me.

And by now, it was getting pretty salty.

I’m not sure how worth $8 this burger is.  I can probably get better quality stuff at Red Robin or White Spot.  But I don’t regret this though.

  1. I was spending some time browsing your blog entries (I also linked up to you in my blog), really enjoyed them, I also like fast food myself (among other types of food you featured) so thanks again for sharing your input ^o^

  2. HAHAHA I laughed at the side view of the burger. My friend told me to try their burger shots. Too small, I’d need at least four of them to be a decent snack.

Keep the receipt, you can get a free burger with purchase of drink/fries….though you’ll have to phone in and get a code. Or do some googling for a code generator…;)

  3. You have got to be kidding me. This is truely unbelieveable. This burger actually topped the worst burgers from previous visits. Can someone who works there truely be that lazy? I will attempt to post some pictures of this so-called steak house burger. This was to be our Mothers Days dinner! I will add that we did go out the two nights before, just saying I am not that cheap! Well $29.64 for two adults and two kids is not really that cheap. Store #15526 (803) 996-6458 1212 Main St. Lexington, SC I wish I could post my photos they are fantastic 🙂

    1. Haha Vince was yours assembled as “nicely” and “carefully” as mine? You can send me your pictures and I’ll post them for you!!
