It was my pup Tormund’s (as in Tormund Giantsbane…you know?? Game of Thrones??) 2nd birthday yesterday and I splurged on a doggy birthday cupcake for him this year. I’m not a pet spoiler and I don’t usually give him treats so this was special for both him and I.
I went to a local pet treat bakery called Big Dog Little Dog Bakery in Burnaby. They have a huge selection of cookies, cakes, and even entree items such as pizza, sausage rolls and meatballs. It’s a great place if you want to spoil your pooch.
I decided to get an Austin’s Big Pupcake ($7.49) for him. It is a carob batter cupcake with carob chips mixed in (as dogs can’t have real chocolate since it’s poisonous to them), and topped with a vanilla or carob flavored bone cookie. You can have the bone personalized for $1 more.
I picked white frosting for Tormund. You can also get pink or brown. I believe blue is also available but you have to order 2 days in advance. I ordered mine half a day in advance because I’m a procrastinator.
I had him split it with his best friend Finnegan. They both gobbled it up pretty quick, although Finnegan (a corgi) was much faster.
It was cute fun! I think I’ll get him a cake every year from Big Dog Little Dog!
