The Fish House is one of our most favorite restaurants. We like it because they always have coupons in Entertainment Book, and even without the coupon, the prices are not too hard to swallow.
They have two dining areas. This is the lighter, brighter side. The other side is more romantic.
Our favorite appetizer is this plate of mussels. There are 3 broths to choose from. Our favorite is the Classic, which is slight tangy and spicy. I especially like the seagrass that adds a crunchy texture. I haven’t had it anywhere else.
The mussels have been excellent everytime. Big, fat and juicy. They always have a slight sweetness to them.
We added Yam fries to our mussels for $3.00 more. It comes with garlic aioli. They are crunchy and sweet and good. Always a good choice.
I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea. It was not good. I always find that restaurants like this don’t do cocktails very well. I’ll probably save my cocktail cravings for a lounge-type restaurant.
Being called “The Fish House”, the restaurant’s specialty is of course…Fish.
This is Boyfriend’s favorite – Ahi Tuna ‘Diane’. We’re not really sure what the ‘Diane’ is but it comes with a green peppercorn sauce which adds a meatiness to the fish. Boyfriend loves ahi tuna. This is $29.95.
I think this was a seasonal special. It’s the Mahi Mahi. It’s currently not available anymore. It was a good fish but not especially memorable. I believe this was around $22.95.
I tried the Basa Filet last time and I really really enjoyed it. I suggest you try it next time. It’s one of their cheaper dishes too as it only costs $16.95.
The seasonal dessert was the Pumpkin Cheesecake and it was WONDERFUL. I cannot describe how good this was. Just the right amount of spiciness and creaminess. Since this I’ve been trying pumpkin cheesecake at different places but to no avail. This cost $8.00 I think.
The portion looks decent for the price.
MMM yam fries…now I want some.
I agree with 604foodtography…those yam fries and garlic aioli look awesome.
