On a walk back from a morning out with the boys, AngryRussian noticed that this place called Seamore’s has buck-a-shuck oyster happy hour, so being the darling that he is, told me about it even though he really dislikes oysters. and off we went for happy hour.
They have a few locations around town. We went to the Chelsea location as it was walking distance from us.
I really love how airy the restaurant is. It was so open and inviting. They have a teal and white color scheme which I am in love with. As we were here quite early during the happy hour period we got our choice of seats and I chose the table by the open window.
On the other side of the restaurant is their kitchen and above you can see all of the daily seafood choices. Such a cool idea!
Happy hour drinks were $6 each. AngryRussian got a beer of course, and I ordered a delightfully refreshing Gin & Tonic.
Drinks were well made and strong!
But I was here for the oysters. I don’t know what kind they were as I was not told but they were miles better than what I had at Le Song. These were fresh and briny and no shards of shells in every bite!
Also loved the little lemon mesh that kept seeds from getting onto the oysters! It’s the little details you know? I’m easily satisfied. The cocktail sauce and the mignonette were both on-point (oh god did I really just use that term??).
I had a whole dozen in the end and loved every single one of them. Service was polite but not super attentive but we didn’t need much that day anyways. Overall really enjoyed my time here. As for AngryRussian…I don’t know? He just had beers and watched me eat 12 oysters.
