Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse – Victoria, BC

Back in October when it was relatively ok to travel within the province, AngryRussian and I took our Anniversary trip over to Victoria.  It’s been a while since both of us have been there so this would be a relaxing easy trip for us!

I asked AngryRussian to look into Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse as a point of interest.  It was also close to the ferry terminal so naturally it became our first stop!

I wanted to give Sea Cider a visit as I’ve tried their ciders here and there at various craft beer festivals, and had always enjoyed them, especially their Rum Runner (now renamed as Prohibition).  It was also one of the places we casually looked into while researching wedding venues.

We decided on the Long Flight ($14.50) which consisted of six pre-selected 2oz samples with their fortified ciders served as 1oz as they’re stronger.  The six selections were: Bittersweet, Pippins, Bramble Bubbly, Ruby Rose, Prohibition, and Raspberry Anne.  These were all delicious but of course I’m partial to their sweeter creations.  We ended up purchasing “Bittersweet”,  “Bramble Bubbly”- a deliciously berry-toned cider, and AngryRussian’s favourite of the day- the “Ruby Rose”, which we also got another bottle of to gift to our dog-sitter.

For the same visit we also ordered a picnic box from Truffles Catering through Sea Cider’s website, to be consumed during the visit.  We picked the small size of the “Raised & Cultured” box ($32) which included all of the following: Creamy cranberry goat cheese, Cambozola cheese spread with pear compote, house made truffled ‘boursin’, duck confit rillette, chicken liver paté, selection of traditional and Two Rivers cured meats, house pickled seasonal vegetables, fig jam and beer mustard. Served with selection of crackers and fresh baguette.

This box was gorgeous, was personalized with AngryRussian’s name, and just so cute!  We devoured almost everything inside and it was delicious!  Paired with Sea Cider’s libations it was a great afternoon snack after a hectic travelling morning!

Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse was such a neat place to spend an afternoon.  I will definitely make a plan to visit again the next time we’re in Victoria!
