Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal

Some colleagues and I went to Starbucks for coffee break one day.  As I was hungry, I forgoed a drink and ordered their Perfect Oatmeal instead.

Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal

What a mistake.  Now it was my first time to order this so I didn’t know what “choices” I have aside from the topping add-in.  The barista was probably too busy too and didn’t bother to offer me choices so as to speed up the process.

Now that doesn’t do very well for this product.  I only found out afterwards that I had my choice of milk to be put into it instead.  As you can see above, they only put water in it.  It was horrible.  The package also says to not microwave it (weird) so it was watery and didn’t thicken up very well.

Starbucks Perfect Oatmeal with Dried Fruit

I picked the dried fruit as my topping.  If I had know that the oatmeal was going to be watery and completely tasteless, I would’ve opted for the brown sugar instead.  Seriously by now I really think the Quaker Instant Microwaveable Oatmeal stuff is much better (and cheaper) than this.

Do yourself a favor and get Quaker’s instead.

  1. I dont know what starbucks these people have gone to, but the times i have tried this oatmeal it been delicious. Not watery at all. The perfect oatmeal!!

  2. I, too, tried this for the first time last week and was very pleased with my perfect oatmeal – not watery at all – so much so , that I am trying to replicate it at home in order to make it my daily breakfast (there is no Starbucks in my hometown).

  3. I have had alot of it now & love it, but every now & then you’ll get a horrible barista that puts too much or not enough water in it. MOST of the time, it is perfect. You cant microwave Starbucks cups too long or they catch on fire. 🙁 So to thicken up the oatmeal, no longer than 1 minute sessions, & stir.
