- Part 1: Seattle Food and Wine Experience 2019 – COMFORT
- Part 2: Seattle Food and Wine Experience 2019 – POP!
- Part 3: Seattle Food and Wine Experience 2019 – GRAND TASTING
In February of this year I had the pleasure of attending the Seattle Wine and Food Experience in Seattle. The SWFE is a series of themed events held over 4 days at various venues around Seattle and the focus in on two things: Wine and Food of course!
Your ticket gives you unlimited access to hundreds of local Seattle/Pacific Northwest wine and food vendors at each event. There’s 3 main events in total plus a Sunday Supper on the final day. The 3 main events are COMFORT- emphasis on comfort foods and beer; POP! – emphasis on bubblies and seafood; and the GRAND TASTING – an amalgamation of the previous 2 and more!
Use promo code “Eatnabout20” for 20% off tickets for all experiences!!
Finally the last event of the Seattle Wine and Food Experience weekend is the Grand Tasting! This event took place at the Bell Harbour International Conference Centre. There were two levels of action and there was an abundance of food, wine, spirits, ciders, and everything in between!
As the Grand Tasting is an amalgamation of COMFORT and POP!, there was both casual and fine-dining choices here.
Champagne Poached Prawn – Dungeness crab, cucumber and a seafood Mary granita from Blackfish Restaurant.
There were definitely some restaurants that I’ve met before at COMFORT and POP! but there was a lot more new ones to check out. Aside from food and wine, there’s also photobooths and assorted swags to check out!
Duck Rillettes – shaved lardo and Ariadne Pure extra virgin olive oil; searved on house-made focaccia crisp from Tula Bene Pastaria and Chophouse.
Mini Crawfish Pie from Cedars Restaurant and Irish Guinness Beef Stew from The Draft Sports Bar and Grill.
Spicy Chicken Lollipops from Washington Athletic Club.
Lobster Ceviche with coconut, cucumber and tortilla crisps from Tulalip Resort Casino Catering.
My favorite spirit find of the weekend – Ketel One’s new Botanical line of infused vodkas! My favorite is the Peach and Orange Blossom with a bit of soda.
Seattle Wine and Food Experience was such a fun event and a nice short getaway from Vancouver! I highly recommend all food festival lovers to try this out as personally I find this event much better than EAT! Harvest that we have here. This event will also make a great “Experiences” Christmas present if you’re trying to do more “experiences” than “material” gifts!
The dates for SWFE 2020 are out! Go to their website for tickets and more information!
